County Shield

A short lived competition that only ran for two seasons (1903/04 & 1904/05). This came about when the former Leicestershire Shield was split into separate competitions for teams from Leicester (the Borough of Leicester Shield) and teams from the rest of the county (the County Shield). This was the third most important cup competition at the time behind the Senior Cup and the Junior Cups (North & South).

After 1905 the separate County Medals competitions were introduced and teams in the county played in their local medals competition if they had not qualified for the Senior or Junior cups.
