Founded in 1897 (this is the date in the Leicestershire & Rutland FA directories though the official website and other publications state 1898/99 as the first season).
Originally called the Leicester Town Football League it consists of teams within the City of Leicester.
At the leagues height during the 1950's and 1960's it had up to 9 divisions though it's status reduced during the 1990's and it now consists of three divisions although it does have a thriving veterans section.
Current seasons results and tables can be found at the FA Full-Time Website and the league home page can be found on the Leicestershire Beehive Website.
